The room was well laid out with a walk-in shower, which I greatly enjoyed. the location was perfect, just a short walk to both the town center and the outskirts.

Excellent service and wonderful dining-room. Beds are okay and the rooms are clean and proper. Great atmosphere in and outside the building.
Hot rooms (no airco) and extremely small bathroom. The "garden" was just some grass with a couple of trees. Probably nice for kids to play in but not for a romantic walk.

I enjoyed its personal touches, the staff were extremely friendly and all needs catered for. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The only criticism would be that the bathroom was small and would be better fitted with more powerful ventilation.
As above - ie the bathroom.

The breakfast here is fresh with a great selection of tasty food, and the location is quiet away from the main road.

We was greeted very rudely by the receptionist at the Gatehouse, we had to ring the bell about 8 times before we tried to find her. When she did appear she shoved a piece of paper in front of us told us to fill it in, then she said that she would be back later on to show us our room. Which was about 10 minutes later. We did explain to her that on that same Sunday we had upgraded our room to a higher level and that we would be paying the extra money on arrival, she would not have none of this. The room had a nasty smell also the noise outside our room was bad. When we told my niece (who has been to the Gatehouse) what room we had and where it was based, she informed us that was the room which if anyone had a meal at the hotel with a baby, they could changed the baby nappy in this room, Also I had to go and ask for more soap because the soap machines in the room was either empty or not working

Quiet position
Breakfast was very expensive, why we were asked for an order I don't know, as every dish was wrong, half of the party were on room and breakfast, and were charged £12 extra for scrambled egg.

staff were really friendly
it was very warm in the room - but it would be churlish to blame the hotel for this as the weather was very hot, and as it is a listed building air conditioning can't be fitted. no complaints

This hotel was close to the highway, which allowed us to find the hotel easily, but not right on the highway and noisy. The room was very clean.
The bathroom was very small with a very low toilet and tiny shower. The water in the sink was "not suitable for drinking". A staff member told us that was because of a water softener but I was wary. The bed duvet on the double bed was too short and not wide enough to cover two people in the bed. The staff gave us another blanket when we asked for a bigger duvet, but we were still left with no sheet the size of the bed and didn't sleep well.

Good size room bright and airy, lady on reception very friendly and helpful(,english lady) beautful old hotel with lovely grounds,
There was no hot water in the room there for had to boil kettle to wash, hotel staff did not seem to worry or apoligize for inconvenience caused and no discount offered due to this problem so rather disapointing in that respect.
